– Read all directions before relaxing
– Select relaxer according to texture of hair and desired results
– Part your hair into four sections: from forehead to the nape (down the middle) and then across the head from ear to ear
– Start applying relaxer at the nape of the neck, making ...small partings and apply relaxer generously, quickly and evenly
– Work up towards the crown and then apply to front section, leaving the hairline until last
– Smooth with short firm strokes
– Timing Guide: Process hair for no more than 10 – 15 minutes
– If Relaxers burns scalp immediately after application, rinse off immediately and seek medical attention
– Continue smoothing until timing period is up
– Check for straightness
– If hair looks straight and does not return to its usual curl pattern when pushed towards the scalp, it is fully relaxed
– If relaxer gets onto skin, rinse thoroughly with water Virgin Hair Application:
– Apply relaxer to the entire strand, starting approximately 3mm from the scalp
– Do not stretch hair
– Make sure each strand is thoroughly covered New Growth Application:
– Apply relaxer to new growth only and smooth new growth area only Rinse:
– Rinse thoroughly with warm water, remove all traces of relaxer
– Check nape of neck, hairline and scalp is free from relaxer residue
– Keep eyes closed while rinsing Neutralize:
– Apply Easy Waves Neutralizing Shampoo with colour indicator to the hair and lather well
– Rinse and repeat
– Check traces of pink colour in the lather – pink indicates that the relaxer has not been properly removed from the hair
– Repeat process until lather appears white
– Rinse well to remove all lather Dry and Style:
– Towel dry and gently comb through with a wide-tooth comb
– For best results, continue your hair maintenance regime by using Easy Waves Oil Moisturizer Warnings:

– Follow directions carefully to avoid skin and scalp burns, hair loss and eye injury
– Do not apply relaxer directly to scalp
– Do not wash or use maintenance or treatment products 3 days prior to relaxing
– Do not use if your scalp is injured or irritated
– Do not brush, massage or scratch the scalp for at least 24 hours before relaxing
– Do not pull, stretch or treat hair roughly, treat it gently
– Do not use on bleached hair or hair that has been previously relaxed with curl perm (ammonium thioglycolate or ammonium bisulphate)
– Do not use on permanently coloured hair or hair which is breaking, splitting or otherwise damaged
– Do not use metal spoons or implements
– If hair has been previously relaxed apply to new growth only
– If relaxers causes skin or scalp irritation rinse out immediately with Easy Waves Neutralizing Shampoo
– If irritation persists or hair loss occurs, consult a Doctor
– Avoid contact with eyes, can cause blindness, if relaxer gets into eyes, rinse immediately with cool water for 15 minutes and consult a Doctor
