Use 1000 grip sandpaper designed for wet sanding to feather the edges of the scratch, going to bare metal if necessary. When you can run your finger over the area you sanded without feeling any hint of an edge, you are ready to apply the paint. Match the original paint colour by finding the car’s colour code on the car’s information sticker and take it to an auto supply retailer or auto paint store for a small can of touch-up paint. A light touch will provide the most control when using a sanding drum.
